HPW Architecture is a multi-disciplinary architecture, masterplanning and interior design practice with four decades of experience helping clients create commercially successful, environmentally conscious and people-focused places. We work across the UK with landowners, estates, rural businesses, visitor attractions, holiday parks, garden centres, farm shops, hospitality operators, residential clients and community-led regeneration projects.
Our work is particularly well suited to rural diversification projects where land, buildings or existing businesses have untapped potential. We help clients explore what is possible, test viability, shape a clear vision and develop practical, buildable proposals that support long-term commercial resilience. This may include repurposing land or buildings for visitor attractions, holiday accommodation, glamping, farm shops, food and beverage, garden centres, play facilities, wellness uses, events, workspaces, residential development or wider estate masterplanning.
At HPW, we understand that successful diversification is not just about adding a new building or use. It is about creating places that work operationally, feel right for their setting, attract visitors, support staff, strengthen the business and add lasting value. Our integrated service includes feasibility studies, concept design, masterplanning, architecture, interior design, branding, signage, graphic design and technical design, allowing us to support projects from the earliest idea through to delivery.
People and community are at the heart of our approach. We believe good design should enhance people’s lives; by creating memorable days out, improving guest experience, supporting rural employment, helping family businesses evolve, or giving redundant buildings a new purpose. Our process is collaborative, open and client-focused. We work closely with clients, consultants, planners and specialist experts to make the journey as positive as the final outcome.
Our strength lies in our cross-sector experience. By working across leisure, retail, hospitality, tourism, commercial, residential and community regeneration, we bring proven ideas from one sector into another. This helps rural businesses balance visitor experience, commercial return, operational efficiency, planning sensitivity, brand identity and environmental responsibility.
Sustainability is central to our work. We always strive to create low-energy, long-lasting, flexible and adaptable places that respond to their landscape and support our clients’ long-term goals. From the re-use of existing buildings and careful material choices to low-carbon strategies, landscape integration and future-proofed masterplans, we seek to embed environmental, social and economic sustainability into every project where possible.
Our portfolio includes well-known rural, leisure and visitor destination projects, such as Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World, Willows Activity Farm, Fairytale Farm, and a wide range of leisure retail projects. We work on all scales of projects if our purpose is aligned, one example is Avon Tyrell Boathouse, a small net zero accessible facility in the New Forest National Park. (something including smaller scale projects, and mention boathouse as good small scale example) Whether developing or adapting a visitor attraction, expanding a holiday park, creating a farm shop, improving guest facilities, adapting redundant buildings, planning the next phase of development, or simply looking to explore options, HPW brings creativity, commercial understanding and a genuine passion for helping places thrive. We’d love to chat.
