Transforming Rural Estates through Innovative & Sustainable Diversification

ReFrame Studio is an RIBA Chartered Practice specializing in contemporary architectural solutions for rural settings. With studios in Bath and Dorset, we bridge the gap between traditional agricultural land use and high-value tourism. We don’t just design buildings; we create unique, sustainable holiday retreats that help landowners, vineyards, and farmers diversify their income streams and future-proof their estates.

Our Expertise in Rural Diversification We understand the unique challenges of building in sensitive landscapes, including Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Green Belts. Our award-winning project, The Bide – a handcrafted, eco-friendly retreat in Dorset – demonstrates our ability to deliver high-impact, low-carbon accommodation that resonates with the modern traveller.

Whether you are a vineyard looking to add accommodation or a farm exploring glamping we offer:

• Feasibility & Site Assessment: We begin with a free site visit to unlock the potential of your land.

• Planning Specialist Knowledge: We have a strong track record navigating complex rural planning permissions and heritage constraints.

• Sustainable Innovation: Using systems like WikiHouse and low-carbon materials, we ensure your project is environmentally responsible and cost-effective to run.

• Project Management: From initial concept and fixed-price fee proposals to construction management, we ensure your diversification journey is seamless and transparent.

Location & Reach While we are deeply rooted in the South West (Bath, Somerset, and Dorset), we work on rural projects across the UK. We are passionate about helping rural areas thrive through thoughtful, contemporary design that respects its heritage while embracing the future.
